Airport to Negombo
Meet your English-speaking driver and transfer to Negombo. After time to settle in, take an evening boat ride along the Dutch Canal and lagoon to see local waterways and fishing life.

Negombo to Wilpattu and Anuradhapura
Travel north for a jeep safari in Wilpattu National Park. Look for elephants, deer, crocodiles, buffalo, sloth bears, birdlife, and, with luck, leopards before continuing to Anuradhapura.

Anuradhapura and Mihintale to Sigiriya
Explore Anuradhapura's stupas, monasteries, and sacred sites, then visit Mihintale, traditionally associated with the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka.
Anuradhapura was Sri Lanka's first great capital and remained a political and religious centre for more than a millennium. Its monumental stupas, monasteries, reservoirs, and sacred sites reveal the scale of the ancient city.

Sigiriya and Minneriya
Discover Sigiriya's gardens, frescoes, and summit views, rest at the hotel, then join an afternoon safari in the most suitable Minneriya-area park for seasonal elephant movements.
King Kassapa I made Sigiriya his capital in the late 5th century. Palace ruins crown the 180-metre Lion Rock, while gardens, galleries, frescoes, and the monumental lion gateway reveal the ambition of the royal complex.

Polonnaruwa and Pidurangala
Explore Polonnaruwa's temples, royal buildings, statues, and Gal Vihara. Return to Sigiriya before an evening climb of Pidurangala Rock for sunset views.

Sigiriya to Matale and Kandy
Visit Sri Muthumariamman Temple in Matale, then continue to Kandy for the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and a Kandyan cultural dance show.
Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhala kings. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic houses a relic revered as the Buddha's tooth and remains one of Sri Lanka's most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens at Peradeniya, visit a tea plantation and factory, stop at Ramboda Falls, and enjoy the surroundings of Gregory Lake.

Nuwara Eliya and the train to Ella
Explore Nuwara Eliya before boarding the train at Nanu Oya. Travel through tea plantations, forests, valleys, and mountains to Ella.
Built during the British colonial period to connect mountain plantations with Colombo, the railway now offers one of the island's most memorable journeys through tea fields, forests, valleys, and steep mountain terrain.

Visit Nine Arch Bridge, walk up Little Adam's Peak, and spend time near Ballaketuwa Waterfall before returning to Ella.

Stop at Ravana Falls and continue to the rock-cut Buddha figures at Buduruwagala before travelling to Tissamaharama.

Yala National Park to the southern coast
Join an early Yala safari, then continue to a beach hotel in Tangalle or Mirissa. Wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Yala protects dry forest, scrub, grassland, wetlands, and coastal lagoons. These habitats support elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, abundant birdlife, and a notable population of wild leopards. Sightings can never be guaranteed.

Galle Fort and airport transfer
Explore the ramparts, colonial architecture, narrow streets, shops, and cafés of Galle Fort before continuing to Bandaranaike International Airport.
Portuguese settlers began fortifying Galle in the 16th century, and the Dutch expanded it in the 17th century. Its ramparts, bastions, streets, and blend of European planning with a South Asian setting helped earn UNESCO World Heritage status.
